What we do
As one of the first fully licensed western riding establishment in the country, Sovereign Quarter Horses have always been at the forefront of promoting and teaching western riding. They offer riding lessons for all abilities, from complete beginners to the more experienced rider on their own highly trained western horses or on your own horse.
All lessons are held in the all-weather purpose-built indoor arena. David, Sarah and Olivia share the teaching between them. All three instructors have learned from and continue to do so from the world’s top western riders such as Charlene Carter, Craig Johnson and Tim Kimura.
Sovereign’s aim is to make your lessons an enjoyable experience tailoring it to your own goals.

*Unfortunately, due to insurance lessons are only available to people aged 14 years and over and a completed ‘New rider Form’ (Button below) must have been received prior to your first lesson taking place if you are a new client, if you continue to take lessons this form must be updated each year if there are any changes to your details. In order to offer you a good riding experience, please disclose any disabilities when making a booking either via email or over the phone as well as on the new rider form. *
NEW RIDER FORM
This form must be filled out by individuals wishing to receive tuition at Horse Creek Farm.
Please note that Sovereign Quarter Horses and Horse Creek Farm accept no responsibility for death, or injury of horse or rider. All riders MUST wear a BHS approved safety riding hat, all hats will be checked before your lesson to ensure it is to the latest standards. New rider form must be returned to Sovereign Quarter Horses prior to attending lesson.
Please wear shoes with a sturdy sole and a slight heel (no trainers or wellies) as well as long-sleeved top and long trousers that you are comfortable to ride in (e.g. jeans, jodhpurs, breeches).
Please note: Due to weekend lessons being extremely sought-after, advanced booking is essential. Pre-payment for weekend lessons is required at time of booking.
Cancellation policy: Unfortunately, it has been necessary to introduce the following policy. Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged to the client in full.
Western Riding Vouchers
We offer Western Riding Vouchers that are an ideal gift for someone wishing to experience western riding. These are suitable for all abilities, from the complete beginner to the more experienced rider on our specially trained Quarter Horses.
The voucher will entitle one person to a 1-hour Western Riding lesson and is presented in a western themed card with envelope.
Cost: £62.00 per voucher including VAT – card, envelope and first-class postage.
