Ranch Riding Clinic – 27th July 2019

Ranch Riding Clinic 27th July 2019

Ranch Riding is a discipline in which Sovereign Quarter Horses specialize. It is a great discipline which any horse and rider combination can enjoy and do well. It focuses on the natural movements and willing temperament of the ranch horse.

David Deptford has won both European Champion and Reserve European Champion titles in Junior Ranch Riding and our assistant trainer Olivia Lochhead has won the Bronze medal in this class.

David, Sarah and Olivia have all ridden with and been trained by Ranch Riding World Champion Craig Johnson for many years now and use many of his tips and training techniques on their own horses and when teaching Ranch Riding to others.

In this clinic we will guide you through the paces, transitions and manoeuvres in a Ranch Riding class and help you to achieve what the judges are looking for. In the afternoon sessions we will go through some of the ranch riding patterns that are currently being used at shows. We will cover aspects from most of the Versatility Ranch Horse classes including Ranch Riding, Ranch Trail and Ranch Confirmation.
